Estimates vs observed data

Which FindNuro numbers are observed marketplace data, which are estimates marked "est.", how fresh they are, and how to check them.

FindNuro shows two kinds of numbers. Knowing the difference helps you make better decisions.

Observed data

These come from licensed marketplace data about Amazon products:

  • Price
  • Best Sellers Rank (BSR) and its history
  • Reviews and rating
  • Number of sellers (offers)
  • Size and weight
  • Listing age
  • Fees reported by the data provider (the FBA fee is marked as a provider estimate)

Estimates (marked "est.")

FindNuro calculates these. They are never Amazon-verified:

  • Monthly units (sales): modelled from the sales rank, or taken from Amazon's "bought in past month" badge as a minimum.
  • Monthly revenue: estimated units × current price.
  • Profit, net margin and ROI: use default assumptions unless you enter your own costs. The defaults are unit cost 25% of price, freight 5%, advertising 10% and returns 3%.
  • Opportunity score and competition score.
  • Brand share in a niche.

Every estimate shows est. next to it, and the header reminds you: est. = FindNuro estimate. Each estimate has a confidence level.

What FindNuro does not collect

  • Who owns the Buy Box, and the FBA/FBM split of sellers
  • Whether a category or brand is gated for you
  • Keyword search volume

For gating, check in Seller Central. If you use the AI Agent with your Amazon account connected, ask Can I sell this ASIN? (see Store insights).

How fresh is the data?

FindNuro refreshes most products every 12 to 72 hours. Products on watchlists and recently opened products refresh more often. The details panel shows updated (date and time). Rows older than 72 hours get a Stale data tag.

How to use estimates well

  1. Use estimates to rank ideas, not to promise yourself a result.
  2. Compare a product's estimates with its rank history: a steady rank supports a steady sales estimate.
  3. Replace default costs with real supplier quotes in the Profit Calculator.
  4. Before you buy inventory, check fees in Seller Central's fee preview.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the data come from?

From licensed third-party marketplace data providers. FindNuro is not affiliated with Amazon and does not read Amazon accounts for research.

Why is the score capped for some best sellers?

Products in the top 100 of their category have their score capped at 60, because very high demand usually means very strong competition.
