Supplier verification: what FindNuro can and can't check
What "unverified", "supplier-stated" and "Verified Supplier" mean, and a checklist for verifying a supplier yourself.
Video coming soon. The steps below are complete.
FindNuro helps you find and organise suppliers. It doesn't verify them. Here is what each label means.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Unverified / Entered by you | Information you typed in. FindNuro hasn't checked it |
| Found by FindNuro web research | Supplier Finder's Find real suppliers copied it from the company's public website. Still unverified |
| Public website (unverified) | The AI Agent found it on a public website |
| Supplier-listed on the platform (unverified) | What the supplier says on a platform such as Alibaba.com |
| Verification (as shown/stated) | A badge the supplier's page shows, as you recorded it |
A platform badge such as Alibaba's Verified Supplier means the platform checked certain business details. A badge is not a quality guarantee.
Verify a supplier yourself: checklist
- Ask for the business licence and check the company name matches.
- Ask for product certificates your market needs (for example CPSIA, CE, FDA registration where relevant), and check they're current and in the supplier's name.
- Order samples and test them.
- Compare at least three quotes.
- Consider a third-party inspection before shipping.
- Pay with a protected payment method where possible (for example the platform's trade assurance).
- Get the agreed specifications, price, MOQ and lead time in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Does FindNuro test products or visit factories?
No.
The AI Agent said it "verified" a supplier. What does that mean?
It checked what it could find publicly (for example the website and listings). It can't confirm that a supplier is genuine or reliable. Always use the checklist above.
